Job Details

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Assistant Project Manager to join our team, a leading commercial general contracting firm. The ideal candidate will work closely with Project Managers to ensure successful project delivery from inception to completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist Project Managers in overseeing all aspects of construction projects, including planning, scheduling, and execution
  • Create, update, and maintain project controls tracking cost, schedule, changes, submittals, and quality control
  • Organize and document project meetings, preparing accurate minutes and action items
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and consultants to ensure timely project completion
  • Assist in procurement processes, including soliciting vendor pricing and recommending contract awards
  • Prepare accurate and concise contracts, subcontracts, and purchase orders
  • Support the change order management process by updating logs, obtaining pricing, and developing estimates and proposals
  • Review and coordinate shop drawings, submittals, and other project-related documents
  • Assist in the project close-out process to ensure timely completion
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor project progress and quality
  • Serve as a liaison between project management and team members, conveying important updates and gathering feedback
  • Prepare project status reports and assist in creating project proposals
  • Participate in weekly staff meetings and project-related discussions

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
  • 1-3 years of experience in commercial construction, preferably as an Assistant Project Manager
  • Strong knowledge of construction practices, building codes, and industry standards
  • Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment
