1st Shift Material Handler
Position Summary:The Material Handler is responsible for the efficient movement, storage, and preparation of materials, primarily metal bars, to support production processes and shipping requirements. This role involves operating machinery, maintaining a safe and clean work environment, and ensuring accurate order fulfillment in line with work orders.
Key Responsibilities:
Material Movement:
Locate, transport, and stage bundles of bars according to work order specifications.Machine Loading/Unloading:
Move materials to various machines for processing, load and unload bars from trucks, and position materials as needed.Packaging:
Load bars into cardboard tubes, band, and/or box bars for shipping preparation.Quality Control:
Oil bars to prevent rust and ensure proper storage, following all instructions from work orders.Documentation:
Complete time tickets and work orders accurately and in a timely manner.Safety & Cleanliness:
Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment. Follow all safety protocols and report any issues to the supervisor.Other Duties:
Perform additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.Tools and Equipment Used:
Side LoaderOverhead CranePneumatic Banding GunStep LadderQualifications:
Ability to follow instructions and work independently.Familiarity with operating material handling equipment such as side loaders and overhead cranes.Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining safety standards.Good organizational skills and ability to complete paperwork accurately.#AIS11
