Material Handler - 1st Shift

1st Shift
Pay Rate:
$17.00/hr. - $18.00/hr.
Job Summary:Our client in Valley City is seeking dedicated and detail-oriented Material Handlers to join their team on 1st shift. The Material Handler will be responsible for locating, moving, and preparing metal bars for processing and shipping. The ideal candidate must follow safety protocols, work orders, and instructions to ensure efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities:Locate and retrieve the correct bundles of bars for each work orderMove bars to designated machines and locations for processingLoad and unload bars from trucks using appropriate equipmentLoad bars into cardboard tubes, band, or box them for shippingOil bars to prevent rust and maintain product qualityFollow work order directions accurately to meet production standardsComplete time tickets and work orders for tracking purposesMaintain a clean and hazard-free work environmentPerform additional tasks as assigned by the supervisorTools & Equipment Used:
Side LoaderOverhead CranePneumatic Banding GunStep LadderQualifications:
Experience in material handling or warehouse operations preferredFamiliarity with operating side loaders and overhead cranes is a plus (Training provided)Ability to lift, move, and handle metal bars and related materialsAttention to detail and ability to follow instructions and work ordersStrong focus on safety and maintaining a clean work environmentWillingness to perform physically demanding tasks in a fast-paced environmentSkills & Competencies:
Effective time management and organizational skillsStrong communication and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamBasic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with material handling equipment
