Discover a career in banking at Fifth Third Bank.OverviewThe Communications Manager will focus on creating, writing, editing and distributing strategic, consistent, and accurate internal communications that promote Fifth Third Bank's strategy, business objectives and leadership. The Communications Manager will partner with division/Line of Business leadership and/or cross-functional Bank partners to execute strategic communications plans, deliverables and tactics.This role involves a high degree of relationship-building with Fifth Third senior leaders across business lines and corporate functions to ensure alignment across messages and priorities. The ideal candidate will combine a deep understanding of Fifth Third's business priorities with current events, disciplined plan execution with attention to detail, and drive to achieve measurable results.Responsible and accountable for risk by openly exchanging ideas and opinions, elevating concerns, and personally following policies and procedures as defined. Accountable for always doing the right thing for customers and colleagues and ensures that actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience. While operating within the Bank's risk appetite, achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesDrive communications projects and plans from inception to completion.Partner with Human Capital leadership and/or cross-functional Bank partners to execute strategic communications deliverables and tacticsBuild credibility as a trusted partner to Human Capital and other cross-functional colleagues with a balance of business acumen, effective communication and expert project management skills. Manages communication consultation, planning, implementation, and recommends communications solutions.Provide communications guidance, execution support and project management to multiple stakeholders across Corporate Communications and the Bank.Write strategic communications material that connects to the Bank's priorities and culture.Communicate clearly, consistently and accurately across a variety of channels.Edit copy for consistency, clarity, accuracy, grammar, style and effectiveness. Elevate quality of others' writing to tell effective stories with edits that make copy tighter, stronger, more compelling.Understand and apply style guidelines as defined by the Associated Press and Fifth Third Bank in our Corporate Stylebook.Write communication materials as assigned and contribute proactive ideas to further improve internal and external communications. Have a passion for great writing and share that passion and expertise with the team.Provide research and writing support for various communications deliverables and channels, including but not limited to: internal town hall meetings, external speaking engagements, video scripts, talking points, social media posts.Review and analyze metrics/data to discover trends and make informed recommendations.Continually integrate new technology tools and best practices to increase impact and efficiency.Serves as point person for select administrative responsibilities, such as preparing data and analysis for Quarterly Business Reviews, updating department trackers and calendars, managing logistics, and processes invoices and expenses to keep the department budget on track.Supervisory Responsibilities:Provide guidance, mentoring and training to more junior staff, but has no formal supervisory responsibility.Minimum Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required:Bachelor's degree required. Experience in banking and/or financial services strongly preferred. Prior experience supporting internal communications strongly preferred.5+ years of experience with deep understanding of corporate communications and the highly developed inter-connectivity of internal communications, executive communications, PR, events, thought leadership, and social media.Experience with a range of internal communications channels, including corporate intranet, email, video/webinar, in-office activations, etc.Experience working with and building effective relationships at all levels of employees and leaders across the organization, including the C-suite and executive team.Strong executive presence that inspires trust and confidence; ability to work with discretion and exercise sound judgment independently.Ability to deliver against tight deadlines when they arise, resolve issues, and propose solutions in a fast-paced environment.Highly flexible; able to quickly respond to changing or unanticipated needs and mobilize accordingly.Strategic problem solver who can look around corners to identify potential obstacles and design thoughtful, creative solutions.Demonstrated ability to build and execute impactful integrated programs using multiple channels to achieve stated strategic objectives with measurable outcomes.Exceptional skills in the following categories: writing, editing and project management.Intellectual ability and presence to earn the respect and attention of key internal partners, balanced with a sense of humor.Communications Manager LOCATION -- Cincinnati, Ohio 45202
