As the Director of the Division of Health Care Services, you will lead a team of nearly 130 employees responsible for the statewide administration of Medicaid programs. You will oversee critical systems that serve the Division’s programs and processes, including claims adjudication and payment, provider and member enrollment, coordination with Tribal Medicaid systems, and representation of Medicaid leadership to external stakeholders.You will be the face of the Division, working closely with the Alaska State Legislature, executive offices, tribal health organizations, the federal delegation, and other partners to ensure effective communication and service. With oversight of ten distinct sections—including Medicaid recoveries, system operations, quality assurance, and licensing—you will ensure efficient, compliant, high-quality operations serving more than one-third of Alaska’s residents.Additionally, you will play a key role in developing and implementing initiatives to improve the health of Medicaid recipients while managing costs effectively. This requires a collaborative approach, working with Department staff, healthcare providers, and community stakeholders to drive innovation and improvement in Alaska’s Medicaid program.Why Join Us:

Proven track record of successfully administering large health programs and leading teams to meet organizational goals on time and within budget. In-depth knowledge of Medicaid regulations, claims adjudication, and provider enrollment processes is essential.Visionary Leadership:

Ability to develop and implement a long-term vision for the Division, driving organizational change and inspiring others to achieve shared goals.Human Capital Management:

Experience in recruiting, developing, and managing a diverse workforce in alignment with organizational objectives.Strategic and Political Savvy:

Skilled in formulating and executing strategic plans and navigating the political landscape that impacts the Division’s work.Regulatory and Compliance Expertise:

Extensive knowledge of Medicaid regulations and experience in managing audits, compliance checks, and investigations.Financial Acumen:

Strong financial management skills, particularly in controlling Medicaid-related spending and ensuring efficient claims processing.Stakeholder Engagement:

Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate with government agencies, healthcare providers, and other key stakeholders.Innovation and Change Management:

Experience in driving process improvements, leveraging technology, and managing change in a healthcare regulatory environment.Ethics and Integrity:
