SUMMARY

The Human Resources Director guides and manages the overall provision of Human Resources services, policies, and programs for the entire company.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

(include the following. Other duties may be assigned) .

Liaison with ADP to work through local and state tax and wage and hour changes that impact company payroll. Responsible for full cycle payroll process using ADP software to include employee maintenance, manual check calculations, review of timecards, payroll processing and payroll reporting (bi-weekly, quarterly and yearend).

Review and update employment related materials (employee handbook, personnel forms, etc.) to ensure compliance with regulatory changes. Policy and procedure development and documentation.

Advise store directors and department managers on corrective action regarding employee relations issues including misconduct, sexual harassment, terminations, and wage and hour issues.

Responsible for employee orientation, development, and training.

Conduct investigations, follow-up on formal employee complaints, including response to agency charges.

Conduct training for management regarding human resource topics such as interviewing, conducting evaluations, performance management, company policy and procedures, and wage and hour issues.

Assist with recruitment and selection of hourly and management positions.

Oversee and enforce compliance of all applicable state wage and hour laws, and federal employment laws. Conduct field audits to ensure compliance.

Compensation and benefits administration, including plan renewal, open enrollment, monthly eligibility and billing, ACA reporting compliance. Liaison with broker and carriers to work through enrollment and utilization issues.

Responsible for staying compliant with state and federal reporting requirements (Multiple Worksite, EEO-1, Oregon new hire reporting, ACA).

Liaison with ADP on administration of company 401k plan and oversee annual 401k audit.

FMLA and OFLA leave administration, including Paid Leave Oregon claims.

Risk management administration of workers’ compensation, general liability, property, and auto claims. Work with broker on plan renewals and audits.

Position is full-time and requires regular, reliable attendance.

Travel between store locations required.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year college and 5 to 7 years’ experience in a HR generalist role.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and government regulations. Ability to effectively present information to and respond to questions from other managers, store managers, vendors & customers.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Strong basic math skills including the ability to add, multiply, divide, subtract and calculate percentages. Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, and discounts.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to solve practical problems.
