Venturi, LLC A Chenega Company has an exciting career opportunity for an MDA SATCOM/Communications Network Engineer
.This individual will support the Missile Defense Agency's Command, Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC) Networks organization (BCN).The ideal candidate possesses a detailed understanding of telecommunication systems and will work on the TEAMS Next Missile Defense Systems Engineer contract.
ResponsibilitiesProvide engineering, technical, and project management expertise to BCN to develop and deploy robust, end-to-end, high availability, test and operational communication networks for the sharing of information across all MDS assets.Perform systems engineering and integration to include Military SATCOM Architecture studies and long haul communications engineering and analysis to include: site selections, site surveys, strategic capability development, site planning, providing on-site construction support, site implementation leadership, communications equipment selection, staging, installation, integration and testing management.Provide technical analysis of Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) provided designs.Assist the government with overseeing the Prime Contractor on development of the BCN.Develop facility requirements and participate in facility design reviews.Coordinate the installation of facility requirements.Facilitate working groups and technical interchange meetings.Integrate communication system components into a larger system.Draft/brief information/decision papers/briefings and staff coordination packages for senior leadership.Perform assessments of detailed network test data.Travel up to 25%.Qualifications
Required:
Master's degree in STEM and 12+ years of systems engineering-related experienceActive Secret security clearanceExperience with radio frequency (RF) and waveform communications system designExperience with DoD terrestrial and satellite communication systems (MILSATCOM)Understanding of telecommunication systems test dataUnderstanding of the requirements review and design review processUnderstanding of how requirements flow down from system specifications to element specificationDesired:
Active Top-Secret clearanceTactical data links (TDL J, Link 11, Link 16) systems, encryption systems, precision timing systems, and DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) desiredExperience with Missile Defense Agency and Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) servicesExperience with large-scale construction projects a plusKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to work independently, as a team member, or leading teams/tasks, applying engineering rigor to solve engineering/scientific problems.In-depth practical and theoretical technical/engineering knowledge.Working knowledge of missile defense system components and mission.Familiarity with DOD and MDA processes and procedures.Ability to work in a high-paced environment while coordinating with multiple organizations and leadership.Proficient with Microsoft software applications.Ability to execute and complete tasks with no supervision.Ability to travel 20-25% to CONUS and OCONUS locations.Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
