Overview

The Junior Staff Accountant is responsible for assisting the team in effectively providing and maintaining financial and other support services, which include accurate and timely processing, recording, and reporting of SQA's financial transactions as required to meet the needs of internal and external stakeholders, as well as other SQA business units.

As a part of the Accounting team, the Junior Staff Accountant will be assigned to perform, or to assist other members of the team in the performance of, any or a combination of, the following general functions:

Responsibilities:Accounts receivable and credit and collection functions, which include billing, credit and collection, bank deposits, maintenance of cash receipts and accounts receivable recordsAccounts payable function, which involves the processing of payments and maintenance of disbursements and accounts payable recordsPayroll processing functions including verification of time and expensesPayroll-related human resources functions including benefits administration, handling of unemployment and workers' compensation claims, and employee vacation and sick leave monitoringFixed assets tracking and monitoring functions, which involves the maintenance of fixed assets records and related depreciation schedulesFinancial reporting function of the above dutiesSupport month-end and year-end close processOther accounting and administrative functions that may be assigned.Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fieldMinimum of 1 year of accounting experience preferred (or 2 years administration assistant experience)Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skillsAbility to multi-task, and work in an organized, detailed mannerProcess-oriented with strong time management skillsAbility to meet deadlines and manage competing prioritiesExcellent organization skills with strong attention to detailsHands-on experience with accounting software packages (like QuickBooks) preferredProficiency in Microsoft Office Excel and Word

$24 - $26 an hour
