Posted a month agoDescriptionOur law group is growing and we are looking for a sharp family attorney who will zealously represent our clients in all areas of family law. You’ll assist individuals in a variety of situations such as navigating prenuptial agreements and attending court hearings for divorce, alimony/spousal support, and child support. The prime candidate will have experience with a range of sensitive legal issues such as child abuse, child custody, and domestic violence, and be able to maintain composure, negotiate, and argue effectively even in emotional and high-stress situations. If you are passionate about helping people navigate some of the most difficult challenges they may face in their lives, start your application today.ResponsibilitiesThis position will be responsible for important work, including:Manage full case-handling responsibilities from inception through resolutionIndependently handle decision-making on a case-by-case basis.Develop a strategic approach and provide leadership and direction to paralegals and legal assistantsWork as part of a team with all levels of experience and be open to cross-training for coverage outside the associate duties.Cultivate relationships with the firm's existing and future clients.Analyze case-specific legal issues and documentationFoster and maintain an excellent rapport with clients through consistent communication and thorough advisementHandle the division of marital assets, including real estate, during divorce proceedings as neededOrganize and maintain client files to ensure they are kept currentAdvocate on behalf of clients by understanding their needs, effectively analyzing the situation and forming a strategy for a plan of actionAttend court proceedings as needed to represent clientsCommunicate with senior partners and paralegals to effectively move through the civil litigation processQualificationsMust have worked in Family Law for at least two years.Must be licensed to practice law in the State of Texas and in good standing with the State Bar of TexasPrevious criminal justice or other legal background preferredExperience at a legal firm working on family law and real estate issues (determining marital property) for at least 1-2 years is requiredGreat negotiation and communication skills, particularly in stressful and emotional situationsProven record of success in advocating for plaintiffs and defendantsBachelor’s degree with a legal background and J.D. degree are requiredCompensation$115,000 - $150,000 yearlyWe are growing fast, and we are investing time and energy in building our A-Team.
