Salary: $110,000 - $130,000 per year

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Controller to join our team in the Construction industry. This is a critical role that will support the Controller in managing the financial affairs of the organization and preparing financial analyses of operations, including financial statements with supporting schedules for the guidance of management. The Assistant Controller will be involved in the company's financial management which includes cost accounting, revenue recognition, subcontractor financial management, aid in audits or cost certifications, and other special projects. Job Details

Responsibilities:

  1. Assisting the Controller in managing and overseeing all facets of our accounting operations including the monthly close cycle, financial reporting, internal control, and policy development.
  2. Overseeing the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives.
  3. Preparing and presenting monthly financial budgeting reports including monthly profit and loss by division, forecast vs. budget by division and weekly cash flow by division.
  4. Reviewing and analyzing financial statements and reports, ensuring all financial reporting deadlines are met.
  5. Ensuring accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close processes.
  6. Managing and tracking the performance of invested assets in keeping with policies and investment guidelines.
  7. Overseeing and managing the company's fixed assets.
  8. Ensuring compliance with all internal processes.
  9. Assisting in the formulation of the budget and strategic plans.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
  2. CPA or MBA preferred.
  3. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior-level finance or accounting position, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
  4. Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  5. Experience in managing the month-end close process, forecasting and budget development.
  6. Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems.
  7. Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations.
  8. Strong understanding of manufacturing and project accounting.
  9. Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  10. Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to interact with executive level external and internal clients.
  11. Organizational skills with the ability to manage numerous projects and priorities at once.
  12. Ability to adapt in a fast-paced and changing environment.
