Desktop Engineer

to join our IT department and provide exceptional support to our diverse user base.

Job Summary:

As a

Desktop Engineer , you will play a crucial role in ensuring our employees have a seamless technology experience. You will be responsible for troubleshooting hardware and software issues, performing hardware installations and refreshes, and supporting software migrations. Your strong customer service skills will help you build rapport with end users and resolve their technical challenges efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

Troubleshooting:

Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues for end users across the organization. Provide timely and effective solutions to ensure minimal disruption to productivity.

Hardware Installations and Refreshes:

Manage the installation and configuration of desktop and laptop systems, including peripherals. Oversee hardware refresh cycles to ensure all equipment is up-to-date and functioning optimally.

Software Migrations:

Assist in the deployment and migration of software applications, ensuring compatibility and functionality. Collaborate with IT teams to execute seamless transitions with minimal downtime.

Customer Service:

Provide exceptional support to end users with a focus on clear communication and a positive attitude. Foster strong relationships and understand user needs to improve overall satisfaction.

Documentation:

Maintain accurate records of support requests, resolutions, and equipment inventory. Create and update user guides and technical documentation to assist with future troubleshooting efforts.

Training and Support:

Offer guidance and training to users on new software and hardware features, enhancing their technical skills and confidence.Qualifications:

Experience:

3+ years of experience in desktop support or technical support roles, preferably in an enterprise environment.

Technical Skills:

Proficient in Windows and Mac OS operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and common desktop applications. Familiarity with Active Directory, VPNs, and remote desktop support tools is a plus.

Customer Service Orientation:

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users effectively.

Problem-Solving Skills:

Strong analytical skills with a proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently.

Certifications:

Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator) are a plus.
