The staff physician in Occupational Health is responsible for the provision of occupational health clinical services under the direction of the Medical Director of Occupational Health. Job duties include administration of employee-based medical surveillance programs, performance of pre-placement examinations, fitness for duty and return to work evaluations, and treatment and management of work-related injuries and illnesses.What It Takes to be Successful

Liaison Committee on Medical Education, Commission on Osteopathic)College of Accreditation on the American Osteopathic Association or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.Degree from Foreign Medical School: A Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree from a foreign medical school must provide education and medical knowledge equivalent to accredited schools in the United States. *Evidence of equivalency to accredited schools in the United States is demonstrated by permanent certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (external link), a fifth pathway certificate for Americans who completed premedical education in the United States and graduate education in a foreign country, or successful completion of the U.S. Medical Licensing Examination.Current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a Physician from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States and ability to obtain license in the state of California prior to hire date.Board Certified or Board Eligible in Occupational Medicine, Emergency Medicine, or other Acute Care Specialty. If not Board Eligible at the time of hire, must obtain Board Certification within one year of start date.BLS - Healthcare Provider from American Heart AssociationMaintain a Federal Drug Enforcement Administration license without restrictions, to the extent necessary to render professional medical service.Maintain a current license to practice medicine in the State of California.Maintain board certification or shall attain board certification at the earliest possible date immediately following the commencement date of the contract in the specialties identified.Successful completion of a residency accredited by the ACGME.
