The Idaho State Department of Agriculture is currently recruiting for a Program Specialist in the Division of Animal Industries.

Description: The Program Specialist will be a member of the Animal Industries team for the Idaho Department of Agriculture. This position will analyze data for accuracy and compliance, process application requests, and compile quarterly reports. This position will also provide training and technical support to other Animal Industries staff and complete special projects as needed to support the work of the Animal Health Bureau.

Examples of duties -

Provide administrative oversight of the Raw Milk and Milk Component ProgramsOversee the National Poultry Improvement Plan; assist with program certification, process movement documents and verify annual inspectionsAssist with disease surveillance activities and biosecurity outreach for the Avian/Poultry ProgramsProvide administrative oversight of the Egg program; monitor/maintain inspection lists & mill levy paymentsProvide organizational support of Foreign Animal Disease and Emergency Management activities; compile sample submission forms, package and ship samples, and distribute/track test resultsProvide administrative oversight of the Deleterious Exotic and Commercial Fish ProgramsMinimum Qualifications: These qualifications are mandatory requirements.

Program or project planning and implementation. Typically gained through at least one year experience on a committee or with a group that involved program planning and implementation.Experience developing and evaluating policies and procedures. Typically gained through six months experience writing or assisting in the review/auditing and developing of policies, procedures, field memorandums, directives or post orders.
