Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience in a large facility with over 200 beds and Level 1 trauma capabilities License: ND or compact state RN License Certifications: - Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart Association- National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) - Must obtain prior to start if not already held Must-Have: - Expertise in handling critical care drips including vasopressors, sedatives, analgesics, inotropics, and antiarrhythmics- Proficiency in EPIC electronic medical records- Willingness and ability to float to Intermediate Care Unit (IMC) and Medical-Surgical (MS) units as needed Job Description: - Manage and care for 1-2 critically ill patients- Handle a variety of patient populations, with a focus on renal and bone marrow transplant and oncology patients- Assist in bedside procedures such as rapid sequence intubation (RSI), tracheostomy, line placement, and other diagnostic tests- Utilize and manage various equipment: Omnicell Automated Dispensing Cabinet, Aleris IV pumps, MOOG Feeding pumps, Phillips Patient Monitoring Systems, AvaSure patient monitoring, Hamilton Ventilator, and Hamilton V60 BiPAP- Work 12-hour shifts, rotating days/nights or exclusively nights, with every other weekend and holiday required- Float to other critical care departments and Intermediate ICU as necessary, with a potential nurse-to-patient ratio of up to 1:4 in IMC- Adhere to dress code with navy scrubsThe candidate will receive a comprehensive orientation program totaling 32 hours, which includes hospital and unit-specific training over the first week of the assignment. The orientation is structured in segments focused on hospital wide policies, and intensive care unit-specific protocols across different units.
