About our client - Assistant Controller:

• Our client is the leading designer and supplier of decorative high-quality carpet, custom fabricated rugs and hard surfaces. They have grown substantially over the past fifteen years and are looking for an Assistant Controller to be a part of the company's long-term growth
• This role will be supervise 5 direct reports tracking and evaluating day to day activities.

Role Responsibilities - Assistant Controller:

• Oversee and manage daily functions of the accounting department
  • AP, AR, general ledger, bank reconciliations, taxes
• Manage the financial audit process
• Implement process improvements.
• Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements ensuring accuracy and completeness
• Manage general ledger reconciliations
• Develop staff
  • managing performance, goal setting, training, maintaining strong employee relationships
• Collaborate with external auditors at year end
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal gov't requirements
• Ad hoc analysis and projects as requested

Preferred Qualifications - Assistant Controller:

• 5+ years of relevant accounting experience
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting and CPA highly desired
• Thorough knowledge of US GAAP and accrual process.
• Salary range is $120k annually depending upon experience
• Strong Excel experience with exposure to an ERP system such as Oracle, SAP, AS400 or others is a plus.
