We are on a quest for a seasoned Permanent Controller with a strong background in Commercial Property Accounting. This is a fantastic opportunity to join our dynamic Finance team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing and overseeing the entire financial operations of our commercial real estate portfolio. This includes, but is not limited to, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and property accounting. If you are a strategic thinker, with exceptional analytical skills and a knack for numbers, this is the role for you.

Responsibilities

As a Permanent Controller - Commercial Property Accounting, your main duties will include:

  1. Overseeing all financial operations related to our commercial property portfolio, including financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
  2. Managing the property accounting team to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  3. Implementing and maintaining financial controls and procedures to ensure the integrity of financial data.
  4. Collaborating with senior management to provide strategic financial insights and recommendations.
  5. Providing financial analysis and reports to stakeholders, including property owners, investors, and senior management.
  6. Coordinating with external auditors and managing the audit process.
  7. Leveraging Sage 300 to automate and streamline financial processes and reporting.
  8. Ensuring timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
  9. Assisting in the development and implementation of the company's financial strategy.

Qualifications

To qualify for this role, you must possess the following:

  1. A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. A Master’s degree or a professional accounting certification such as CPA, CMA, or ACCA will be an added advantage.
  2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior financial management role, preferably in the commercial property sector.
  3. Proficiency in property accounting and experience with Sage 300 software.
  4. Strong knowledge of financial regulations and accounting principles.
  5. Exceptional leadership skills with experience in managing a diverse team.
  6. Excellent analytical, strategic planning, and problem-solving skills.
  7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with all levels of management.
  8. High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
