Creative Financial Staffing has partnered with a property management company outside of Boston to identify an Accountant III to join their team. This position is responsible for the performance and oversight of assigned staff accountants in all accounting and financial reporting for condominium, cooperative, and homeowner's association Property Management clients, while also taking a hands-on role in the accounting processes for a portfolio

Responsibilities of the Property Accountant opportunity include but are not limited to:

  • Managing the daily activity and monthly close of all properties/cost centers in assigned portfolio from start to finish.
  • Supervising a team of staff property accountants in their daily/monthly processes.
  • Payment of all invoices and related cash management entries.
  • Creation and posting of adjusting journal entries and accruals.
  • Reconciliation of related bank accounts.
  • Maintenance of key accounting schedules.
  • Preparation and review of balance sheet and P&L activity with supporting schedules, as required.
  • Delivering financial information and communicating with internal and external stakeholders to answer queries.
  • Preparing monthly financial reporting packages for trustees of assigned associations.
  • Collaborating on year-end financial statements, audits, and tax preparation in tandem with Property Management, Controller, and CFO.

Qualifications of the Property Accountant:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field
  • 2+ years of senior accountant experience
  • Previous experience in portfolio/property accounting, condominium real estate preferred
  • Prior experience with Yardi is highly preferred
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment
