Job DetailsThe Reserves Engineer will provide essential support for corporate reserves and reservoir engineering across various projects, as outlined below. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical skills and excellent communication abilities, contributing their expertise within a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the Corporate Reserves team to analyze and prepare quarterly reserves updates and bank redeterminations, ensuring compliance with SEC, SOX, and PRMS guidelines
Work closely with accounting and internal audit teams to guarantee accurate financial reporting related to reserves
Utilize techniques such as decline curve analysis, material balance, volumetrics, and rate transient analysis to evaluate proved and 3P reserves
Compile and conduct comparative analyses of peer reserves data from public filings
Monitor acquisition, divestiture, and non-operated activities to update the reserves system
Partner with Finance and Planning teams to maintain the long-term budget plan, regularly updating type curve, PDP, and expense forecasts
Build and maintain a collaborative relationship with third-party reserves auditors
Provide reservoir engineering support for SEC reserves analysis, reconciliation, and documentation; assist development and A&D team Reservoir Engineers as needed
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution
At least 3+ years of experience in oil and gas reservoir engineering, with a minimum of 1+ years in corporate reserves
Preferred 8+ years of experience in oil and gas reservoir engineering, with at least 3+ years in corporate reserves
In-depth knowledge of quarterly and/or annual reserves processes and SEC reserves reporting requirements
Experience with unconventional resource plays is preferred
Proficiency in handling and analyzing large datasets
Proficiency in ARIES and Microsoft Access/SQL; Spotfire skills are preferred
