Assistant Controller

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Assistant Controller to join our team. As the Assistant Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the company, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all accounting functions. This role reports directly to the Controller and involves collaboration with various departments to support business growth and strategic decision-making.

Assistant Controller Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day accounting activities, including general ledger entries, and financial reporting.
  • Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • The Assistant Controller will prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and forecasts to provide insights into financial performance and trends.
  • Coordinate and liaise with external auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory authorities as needed.
  • Manage and mentor a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance
  • Stay updated with industry trends, accounting standards, and regulatory changes to ensure compliance and best practices.

Assistant Controller Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting roles, with 2 years in a managerial/supervisory capacity.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP principles & financial reporting
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and provide strategic insights.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse teams.
  • Proven leadership abilities, including team management, mentorship, and project coordination.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment, adapt to change, and drive continuous improvement.
