Job Title: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Job Specialty: Respiratory Therapy Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day/Night Rotating Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience required, preferably with NICU, PICU, or Adult ICU License: ND license or willingness to obtain Certifications: - BLS (American Heart Association) - ACLS, PALS, NRP preferred - RRT - NBRC Certification (cannot accept CRT) Must-Have: - Recent experience with adult ICU in an acute setting - Excellent communication skills Job Description: - Assess individuals to prevent, detect, monitor, and manage disease and complications. - Provide therapeutic interventions to improve cardiopulmonary health according to established goals and interdisciplinary care plans. - Educate patients on preventative care and self-management to enhance cardiopulmonary health and quality of life. - Conduct regular assessments of patients and equipment, adjusting therapy as necessary. - Collect and analyze patients' blood and other specimens to determine oxygen, carbon dioxide, and other gas levels. - Measure lung capacity to check for impairments. - Offer diagnostic results and treatment suggestions based on patient analysis. - Utilize equipment such as Epic computerized charting, Hamilton G5 & C1, V60, Airvo, CoughAssist, and more. - Work primarily in the NICU but may float to other units (Adult ICU, Pediatric ICU, etc.) as needed. - Participate in lab orientation and preceptor shifts with RT education staff and unit RTs. - Ability to handle quick changes in patient conditions and work independently or as part of a team. - Rotating weekends and holidays, with 12-hour shifts available in different variations.
