This position is an on-site position at our Kansas City, Missouri Headquarters.

Responsibilities

Senior Director, Human Resources Operations responsibilities include but are not limited to:

The Senior Director, Human Resource Operations is a critical leadership role responsible for overseeing field payroll processing, Human Capital Management (HCM) applications, HR policy and administration, talent acquisition, and continuous improvement initiatives for National Beef, covering its 10,500 employees across several beef processing and further processing facilities, and additional divisions including transportation and leather. This role will support and execute HR transformation initiatives and partner with business leaders and field-based HR business partners to drive HR excellence across the organization. The ideal candidate will have strong project management skills, extensive systems knowledge, and excellent communication skills.

  • Leadership Peers: Human Resources Vice President Operations, Vice President of Corporate Communications, Vice President of Talent Development, Vice President of Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS), Director of Loss Prevention and Director of Benefits/Compensation

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • HR Transformation Initiatives:
    • Support and execute HR transformation initiatives to align HR operations with the evolving needs of the business
    • Partner with business leaders and HR teams to ensure successful change management and adoption of new HR processes and technologies
  • Continuous Improvement Initiatives:
    • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance HR operations and service delivery
    • Utilize data and metrics to drive decision-making and improve HR processes
  • HR Policy and Administration:
    • Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies and procedures that comply with legal standards and support the organization's strategic goals
    • Ensure consistent administration of HR policies and procedures across the organization
  • Human Capital Management Applications:
    • Lead the deployment, management, and optimization of human capital management (HCM) applications
    • Ensure the integration and alignment of HCM applications with overall HR and business strategies
  • Talent Acquisition:
    • Drive talent acquisition strategies and technology to attract and retain top talent
    • Collaborate with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and develop effective recruitment strategies
  • Payroll Management:
    • Oversee the field payroll process ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness
    • Work with the Director of Payroll to implement and manage payroll processes to enhance efficiency
  • Partnership and Collaboration:
    • Serve as a strategic partner to business leaders and field-based HR business partners
    • Provide guidance and support to ensure HR initiatives are aligned with business objectives and operational needs.

This is an on-site position.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates for the Senior Director, Human Resources Operations position should possess the following:

  • Minimum of twelve years of relevant business and progressive human resources experience with at least eight years of experience leading teams at various levels within HR

  • Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience, Master's in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or another related field preferred

  • Expert and broad knowledge of end-to-end talent operations and management

  • Savvy communicator both orally and in writing

  • Proven leadership, critical thinking and coaching skills that foster collaboration and development across and within teams

  • Highly developed project management skills

  • Experience with mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and integration planning / implementation, a plus

  • Labor Relations, ability to build tools to streamline union negotiations and positive employee relations, strongly preferred

  • Must be a highly motivated, innovative, strategic thinker with a high EQ and outstanding executive presence

  • Must be able to connect with and demonstrate empathy for teammates at all levels, along with significant influence and negotiation skills

  • Strong analytical skills and experience with data-driven decision-making

  • Extensive knowledge of HR systems and applications, including HCM, payroll systems, and talent acquisition platforms
