Description

The Director of Workforce Programs will be responsible for managing and overseeing the implementation of all programs in the Workforce Development Portfolio including the GoodJobs Challenge Partnership, the Registered Apprenticeship Program and Urban College Partnership. The Director of Workforce Programs will play a critical role in increasing the number of new to the field early childhood educators in the region to help address the workforce crisis in early childhood education and creating a pathway to further develop their career advancement in early education (Lead Teacher-Director). The Director of Workforce Programs will be fully responsible for implementing the newly approved registered apprenticeship program. The Director of Workforce Programs reports to the Chief of Workforce Development. This position is Full-Time and exempt and reports to the Chief of Workforce Development. The Director of Workforce Programs will supervise the Workforce Program Manager.

Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
  • Manage and monitor day-to-day operations of the Registered Apprentice Program with the Department of Apprenticeship Standards including recruitment, implementation of required training instruction, assignment of workforce coach/mentor and portal data entry and management.
  • Oversee the Good Jobs Challenge project and Urban College Partnership including service delivery, partnership development, data reporting and program evaluation.
  • Create, organize and streamline processes for the recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing support for educators participating in workforce programs.
  • Work with the Workforce Program Manager and Director of Training to ensure that all policies and procedures are in place and inhered at all times related to recruitment, selection process, on boarding and training, curriculum, data collection and evaluation.
  • Develops and oversees relationships with external partners and businesses cultivating and leveraging strong relationships to further program goals. Enhance partnerships using employer feedback and update curriculum resulting in improved trainee placement rates.
  • Ensure that program participants have a direct pipeline to employment opportunities at partner organizations.
  • Work in partnership with the Workforce Program Manager to develop and coordinate individual career and employment plans for trainees.
  • Plan and implement systems to ensure achievement of grant outcomes, data collection, program analysis, and grant reporting in collaboration with TCG development and finance team.
  • All other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Early Education, Workforce Development or a related field is required; Master's degree is preferred.
  • At least 3+ years in early education leadership/workforce management experience is preferred.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • Experience in early education, and/or workforce development field preferred.
  • Experience in collaborating with a diverse team; strong passion and commitment to working with diverse populations.
  • Strong presentation and facilitation leadership skills; ability to interact with audiences of various sizes, of various educational backgrounds, and with competing agendas.
  • Experience in developing and managing high-quality programs or related work.
  • Demonstrated time management, project management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to foster effective relationships with internal teams, partners, stakeholders, and the broader community.
  • Able to take initiative, and work collaboratively in teams as well as independently.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, databases, and web-based applications.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends as needed.
