About the job
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Controller to oversee and manage multi-divisional accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across all financial functions. The Controller will be responsible for tasks including reviewing vendor payments, preparing and posting journal entries, and reconciling balance sheet accounts. This role involves creating annual budgets, maintaining internal controls, and managing payroll entries. The Controller will also handle tax reporting, monitor cash flow, and collaborate with executive leadership on financial planning and analysis.
In addition to these core accounting duties, the Controller will provide leadership by training and mentoring staff, overseeing employee onboarding and development, and maintaining a strong relationship with our banking partner. The ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for detail, a strategic mindset, and a commitment to continuous improvement in financial management.
This role is pivotal in ensuring the financial health and stability of our organization, and the Controller will be a trusted partner to the CEO, offering insights and strategies to support our growth and success.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage and review all aspects of accounting operations, including vendor payments, payroll, tax filings, and financial statements.
- Create and monitor the annual budget and labor rates for production facilities.
- Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with all financial regulations.
- Work closely with executive leadership, across multiple divisions, on financial planning initiatives and special projects.
- Provide servant leadership, training, and support to the accounting team, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- 10+ years of experience in a Controller position or similar role
- 5+ years of experience in a Controller position or similar role in the hospitality industry
- Experience leading a team of 3 or more employees
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (preferred)
- Advanced understanding of Microsoft Office and experience using software such as Restaurant 365, Toast, Caterease, and ADP (preferred).
