All employees at the Department of Public Health work to advance equity, inclusion, and diversity with a specific lens and focus on race, ethnicity, gender, sex, sexuality, disability, and immigration status.The Department of Public Health’s Population Health Division is accepting applications for 4 Senior Information Systems Business Analysts to join the Epic Maintenance & Support Team and help design, develop, implement, maintain, optimize and support DPH's unified electronic health record solution.Duties IncludeSupporting the design, implementation, support, and optimization of the EPIC enterprise Electronic Health Record (EHR) for the San Francisco Department of Public HealthCollecting information from departments, clinicians, health workers, vendors, and internal and external customers regarding electronic system development, implementation, issues, recommendations, and utilization of best practicesAs a member of a multi-disciplinary team, translating functional requirements into application buildsCommunicating effectively both orally and in writing with a diverse set of clientsEstablishing and maintaining good working relations with department personnel, staff, vendors, peers, and managementMaintaining all system configuration and build parameters for application modulesUsing logic and analysis to solve computer and application module problemsExercising judgment, decisiveness, and creativity in an environment subject to frequent changeResearching, analyzing, and developing proposed solutions for regulatory requirementsPreparing test plans, documentation, and training materials; work with vendors to prepare technical specifications and scopes of workPrioritizing competing requests for servicesApplication module optimization in conjunction with stakeholdersProject management of small projectsManaging communication between applicationsApplication/module implementation and testingClearly documenting work and adhering to change control proceduresMaintaining and updating Service Now, Sherlock, Orion, Nova, or other EPIC build trackers or EPIC project plansPerforming other duties as assigned per the City’s job specificationsMinimum QualificationsAn associate degree in business administration, public administration, information systems, economics, finance, computer science or a closely related field from an accredited college or university OR its equivalent in terms of total course credits/units.Three (3) years in the information systems field, including system analysis, business process design, development and implementation of business application solutions or IT project management.Additional experience as described above may substitute for the required degree on a year-for-year basis (up to a maximum of two (2) years). Completion of the 1010 Information Systems Trainee Program may be substituted for the required degree.Desirable QualificationsKnowledge of healthcare workflows: hospital-based care & administration, outpatient care and administration, OR revenue cycle administrationUnderstanding of a wide array of integration points including but not limited to utilizing standards such as HL7, CCDA, & FHIR APIs.Information Technology change control policies & procedures.Knowledge of flow diagramming applications: VisioKnowledge of collaboration platforms: Microsoft Teams & SharePoint.How to ApplyApplications for City and County of San Francisco jobs are only accepted through an online process.
