AHL has repeatedly been recognized as a “Best Place to Work” and is now seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to lead the HR programs for Hawaii’s largest and most progressive architectural firm. This role is pivotal in fostering a positive work environment, ensuring compliance with employment laws, and aligning HR strategies with our firm’s goals. AHL's HR Manager will be responsible for all aspects of human resources, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, benefits administration, and compliance.
Salary Range: $90,000 - $105,000
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification is highly desired.
Knowledge/Skills
Minimum of seven (7) years of HR management experience, preferably in a professional services environment.
Strong knowledge of HR concepts, labor laws, and best practices.
Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems.
Ability to prioritize tasks, delegate responsibilities, and maintain confidentiality.
Ability to sit at a desk and work on a computer for prolonged periods.
Occasionally lift up to 15 pounds.
Navigate different departments and worksites as needed.
Typical Duties
Develop and implement HR strategies, programs, and policies to support the firm’s goals and enhance employee development and morale.
Manage employee services including benefits, compensation, and payroll.
Oversee recruitment, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding processes for managerial, exempt, and professional roles.
Provide guidance to leadership on complex HR issues, including disciplinary actions, compliance, and employee relations.
Analyze compensation trends and develop competitive compensation structures to attract and retain top talent.
Develop and manage professional development and training programs.
Help ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
Monitor and improve HR operations to ensure they align with the firm’s objectives.
