If you are passionate about transforming communities with a mission-driven organization, then we have the opportunity for you!Reporting to the Chief Human Resources and Facilities Officer (CHRFO), the Human Resources Director (HRD) will provide generalist management, oversight, and support to key HR functions such as compensation, employee relations, compliance, and/or international Human Resources. The incumbent will manage select HR staff and systems and will translate strategy into operational plans in key areas.Global Refuge, formerly known as Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service (LIRS), is a nonprofit serving newcomers seeking safety, support, and a share in the American dream. To date, we have served over 750,000 people from around the globe.Attracting and retaining the best talent is vital to our continued growth and we are proud to offer an excellent benefits package including:Medical, dental, and vision available on the first day of employment.Generous paid time off including 20 days of vacation, 12 days of sick leave, and 12 paid holidays.12 weeks of fully paid parental leave and up to 12 weeks of fully paid FMLA leave.Company 403(b) contribution of 3%, an additional 7% match which vests immediately.Family Building benefits for reproductive procedures, adoption/foster care assistance.An annual wellness benefit that can be customized to support your personal needs including funding enrichment classes, gym memberships, and healthy eating plans.DUTIESTranslates strategy into objectives and establishes short-term team goals in support of long-term strategies.Monitors and reports regularly on metrics and activity reports to improve HR practices.Researches and develops policies and procedures to ensure smooth operations supportive of staff and applicants.Ensures compliance with policies and procedures and with federal, state, local, and international laws.Manages and provides oversight and support to HR staff members.Conducts investigations of complex employee relations issues.Coordinates and conducts staff training related to policies and processes.Represents HR at leadership meetings.Other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONSUndergraduate degree in Human Resources, Psychology, or related field and 10-15 years of progressive human resources experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.5 or more years of experience leading an HR department or unit.Extensive knowledge of Human Resources in complex organizations operating across multiple states.Strong generalist knowledge of employee relations, talent acquisition, benefits, and compensation.Proficiency in MS Office and HR systems.Attention to detail and follow-through required.Proven track record of achieving results through others.Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws.Excellent analytic, oral, and written communication skills.Deep appreciation and understanding of a diverse workforce.Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact professionally with diverse staff and clients.Proven ability to assess priorities and manage complex activities.SPHR SHRM SCP Certification strongly preferred.Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.Exceptional time management and quality control skills.Willingness and ability to travel overnight occasionally.Commitment to Global Refuge's core mission and values.Global Refuge is an equal opportunity employer, and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to any characteristic protected by law.
