Job Description:

The Payroll Director is a customer-centric payroll role reporting to OneOncology’s VP Corporate Controller. This role is responsible for the entire payroll function and involves strategic planning, departmental management, and collaboration with executive leadership to align payroll systems with OneOncology’s business objectives.

Responsibilities

Actively pursues building relationships with leadership at our practice partners to instill confidence in accuracy of payroll processing, responding quickly to implement system changes when appropriate and prioritizing rapid pay corrections as needed.

Leverages business knowledge/payroll systems expertise and collaborates with the payroll team to recommend, develop, and implement process improvements.

Ensure pay is processed timely, accurately and in compliance with applicable state and federal regulations and best practices.

Leads the payroll team in responding to payroll-related questions in a manner that supports OneOncology’s culture of open communications and drive for excellence in customer service.

Leads, develops, and supports direct reports by ensuring team members have the appropriate skills and resources to accomplish their objectives, and provides constructive and timely performance feedback.

Collaborates with the payroll and integrations teams to onboard new practices and convert to Workday payroll system.

Works closely with HR to ensure benefits deductions are set up to automatically flow to payroll and process correctly.

Provides necessary information to auditors as required to ensure compliance with audit requirements.

Ensures timely tax deposits and filing of quarterly/annual tax reports and year end processing and distribution of W-2’s.

Develops and maintains the bi-weekly, semi-monthly, and monthly payroll processing calendars to assure all practice partners understand critical deadlines for timely processing of payroll.

Other duties as assigned to help drive our mission of improving the lives of everyone living with cancer.

Qualifications

Minimum 7 years’ experience in payroll at a director level required.

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance related field preferred.

Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred.

Knowledge of payroll processes, FLSA, employment laws, and tax laws and regulations.

Multi-state, multi-entity (FEIN) tax reconciliation, depositing and reporting experience.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Strong supervisory and leadership skills at the director level.

Workday experience preferred.

Knowledge of garnishment and levy processing.

Experience with payroll systems conversions a plus.

Commitment to confidentiality and passion for data integrity and accuracy in all matters.

Position is located in Nashville.
