Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: PCU Stepdown Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights, Every Other Weekend, First to Float Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty; open to first-time travelers License: Required for submission Certifications: BLS, ACLS, COVID Vaccine, NIHSS Must-Have: - Experience with arterial and CVP pressure lines- Experience in titrating pressors- Familiarity with precedex, trach, and stable vented patients- Ability to titrate drips (e.g., Precedex, dopamine, dobutamine, levophed) Job Description: - Work in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) with stepdown patients from ICU.- Handle a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3 for closer monitoring of patients.- Monitor patients with common diagnoses such as TBI/trauma, major surgery, CEA, and sepsis.- Utilize telemetry training and high-risk medication handling.- Participate in unit orientation with one shift on the unit.- Rotate weekend shifts and work into permanent staff holiday rotation.- Be flexible as the first to float, potentially to Tele or MedSurg.- Engage in 12-hour shifts starting at 6:45 am/pm, with self-scheduling.- Collaborate with a close-knit team emphasizing patient experience, core measures, and teamwork.- Use the Cerner charting system.- Maintain compliance with dress code: navy blue scrubs.- Be self-motivated, team-oriented, and invested in the mission and values.- Hospital may cancel up to 3 times per contract, with each potentially being a full shift or partial shift.
