Job Responsibilities

York Technical College, a member of the South Carolina Technical and Comprehensive Education System, is a public, two-year institution of higher education that offers a variety of associate degrees, diplomas, and certificates. Through maximizing student success, the College seeks to contribute to the economic growth and development of York, Lancaster, and Chester counties and of the State.

The Temporary IT Services Specialists perform the following functions:Installs and maintains PC hardware, software, and peripherals (printers, scanners, ip phones, etc.) for employees, labs, classrooms, and testing centers. Provides network support from device to patch panel. This will entail utilizing various hardware/software tools to deploy pc images, inventory PCs, update PCs, and encrypt PCs. Follow documented procedures.

Installs and maintains technology specific to classrooms, including projectors, large screen displays, and document cameras. Provide support for web meetings/video conferencing.

Resolves issues escalated from the Help Desk, including assisting end users in utilizing technology at York Technical College. May include providing coverage on Help Desk.

Provides technical support to special events, such as new student orientations and technology fairs. Participates in IT related projects.

Other duties as assigned.Minimum and Additional Requirements

High school diploma and some experience in working with PCs and related technology, whether it be as part of college class work or at a job related to supporting technology/PCs.Preferred Qualifications

Ability to troubleshoot basic problems with PC hardware and Windows 10 operating system, Microsoft Office, Office 365, and troubleshoot network related issues as they pertain to PC connectivity.Ability to implement or upgrade PCs in a consistent manor following provided documentation and checklists.The ability to communicate with either technical or non-technical customers.Basic knowledge of IT security principles.
