- Develop, implement, and manage quality control systems designed to ensure continuous production of advanced composite materials and applications (consistent with established standards, customer specifications, and production goals).
- Supervise and mentor a team of quality control inspectors.
- Ensure a high level of internal and external customer service. Investigate and correct customer issues and complaints relating to quality.
- Provide technical and statistical expertise to teams.
- Formulate, document, and maintain quality control standards and on-going quality control objectives.
- Coordinate objectives with production procedures in cooperation with other plant managers to maximize product reliability and minimize costs.
- Create, document, and implement inspection criteria and procedures.
- Interpret quality control philosophy to key personnel within the company.
- Provide, and oversee, inspection activity for product throughout the production cycle.
- Apply total quality management tools and approaches to analytical and reporting processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Quality, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering.
- 5+ years of experience in a similar role.
- Proven experience in the engineering industry, specifically with military and commercial aerospace.
- Extensive knowledge and experience with D1-9000 or QS 9000, AS/ISO 9001, MIL-Q-9858, MIL-I-45208, MIL-STD-1520.
- Familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulations or the predecessors (DAR and ASPR).
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer certification is highly desirable.
- Strong skills in Quality Assurance and Quality Engineering.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Exceptional data analysis and statistical aptitude.
- Proven experience in managing a team.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and databases.
- Knowledge of tools, concepts, and methodologies of QA.
