Job Summary: As a Registered Nurse in the Cardiovascular Operating Room, you will play a crucial role in assisting with complex surgical procedures related to the cardiovascular system

You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to ensure the safety and well-being of patients undergoing cardiovascular surgery

This role requires a high level of expertise, teamwork, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities:
  1. Preoperative Preparation:
    • Assess and prepare patients for cardiovascular surgical procedures.
    • Administer medications and anesthesia as directed by the anesthesiologist.
    • Ensure all necessary equipment and supplies are available and functioning properly.
  2. Intraoperative Support:
    • Assist the surgical team during procedures, including scrubbing, circulating, and providing instrumentation.
    • Monitor and maintain sterile field integrity.
    • Continuously assess the patient's vital signs and respond promptly to any changes.
    • Administer medications and fluids as ordered by the surgeon or anesthesiologist.
    • Operate and troubleshoot specialized CVOR equipment, such as heart-lung machines and intra-aortic balloon pumps.
  3. Postoperative Care:
    • Transition patients to the post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) or cardiac intensive care unit (CICU).
    • Monitor patients for post-surgical complications and provide appropriate interventions.
    • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
    • Educate patients and their families on postoperative care and recovery.
  4. Documentation and Record Keeping:
    • Maintain accurate and complete medical records.
    • Document all aspects of patient care, including assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
  5. Safety and Infection Control:
    • Adhere to strict infection control protocols to prevent surgical site infections.
    • Ensure the safety of patients and staff during surgical procedures.
Qualifications:
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in state of practice.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification.
  • CNOR (Certified Nurse Operating Room) certification preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy, physiology, and surgical procedures.
  • Proficient in the use of CVOR equipment and technology.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Attention to detail and strong critical thinking skills.

CVOR RN

13 week assignment

40 hrs

10 hr days, 6:3a-5p

BLS, ACLS, & NIHS required

NE or multi-state license

Must have 2 yrs of CVOR experience and at least one year with CT Circulating

Types of Patients: CT, Ortho, Spince, General, GYN, URO, Robot, and Plastics

Charting System: EPIC

ASAP start
