YNourish Specialist

will work to deliver engaging activities for drop-in style youth programming, assist in serving nutritious meals, and build meaningful relationships with families in the communities of service. The

YNourish Specialist

will work with the Healthy Living Program Director to track outcomes and maintain thorough records for programs.Education/Experience/Training/CertificationsHigh school graduate or equivalent; one year or more of college preferred.Previous experience working with children, preferably in a group setting is required.Experience in one or more of the following areas: songs/music, skits, sports, aquatics, recreational games, nutrition education, wellness, education, youth development, etc.CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and Child Abuse Prevention training within 30 days of hire date.Previous experience with diverse populations preferred.Job Duties & ResponsibilitiesSupervises program participants at multiple drop-in sites each day for summer camps and after-school programs while transporting food and supplies to sites, as needed.Support the program Director in planning program activities, and implement those programs that are culturally relevant, developmentally appropriate and consistent with YMCA values.Facilitates a program environment that invites exploration, promotes positive play, and welcomes children, families and staff.Adheres to program standards and demonstrates knowledge of established safety procedures, makes real-time decisions, and effectively communicates changes or decisions surrounding safety.Attends all required staff meetings/training and support/attends Association-wide events (Healthy Kids Day, Fresh Baskets, Halloween at the Y, etc).Collects needed data for grant compliance, goals and program improvement. Transports food and supplies to sites, as needed.
