The Business Intelligence Analyst will contribute to the NCB Mission through a strong focus on knowledge and capability development. The key responsibilities of the position are:Develop and implement business intelligence strategies and programs to support business objectivesBuild dashboards and SharePoint reports using Tableau and analytics toolsIdentify trends, patterns, and insights in complex data sets to support decision-makingDevelop statistical models and predictive analytics to forecast business outcomesAnalyse the performance of business and shipbuilding operations and provide actionable insights to improve efficiency and productivityCollaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement data-driven solutionsCollaborate with business areas to identify and develop data sources and maintain the NCB data catalogueCollaborate with business areas and external parties on improving data quality, as relevantCollaborate with business areas to develop data standards (in particular for external data supplies), data flows and data modelsDevelop and maintain reporting frameworks to track key performance indicatorsProvide training to users on how to utilize business intelligence tools and data insights effectivelyDevelop training materials for data custodians to support continuous data management improvementLiaise with other areas of Defence on data matters and opportunities for data sharingStay up to date with emerging trends and technologies in business intelligence, data mining, and predictive analyticsAbout our TeamNaval Construction Branch (NCB) is accountable for the assurance of ship construction, set-to work and transit of vessels constructed at the Osborne Naval Shipyard and Henderson precinct. We are headquartered in Osborne, SA and have a detachment in Henderson, WA and a smaller presence in Port Macquarie, NSW.NCB is furthering continuous naval shipbuilding and growing sovereign capability by overseeing the construction to ensure quality and standards are met, storing lessons learnt and developing standard shipbuilding procedures for construction.NCB will oversee the construction of many different Navy vessels including Offshore Patrol Vessels, Hunter Class Frigates, Young Endeavour, Mine Hunter Vessels, Evolved Cape Class and Pacific Patrol Boats. Working at NCB will enable you to be at the grassroots of continuous naval shipbuilding, where you are part of a working shipyard, being able to see and contribute to the vessels delivered and used in Service by Navy.Our Ideal CandidateThe Business Intelligence Analyst will be required to work in a complex operating environment as part of the Naval Construction Branch (NCB). The position supports the implementation and delivery of continuous shipbuilding and will be an integral part of the Operations area within NCB with the opportunity to establish and implement business improvements, develop and implement statistical models and analyze the performance of the business.Application Closing Date: Thursday 10 October 2024
