About Zenith’s Cultural Convergence Practice
Zenith’s Cultural Convergence practice consists of subject matter experts in the areas of Inclusive Marketing, Multicultural Marketing, and DEI Marketing. The Cultural Convergence practice reflects the various needs that clients have when it comes to reaching diverse consumers and creating inclusive media & marketing initiatives that drive business. Our goal is to lead with human insights that fuel results, inspire creative partnerships & platforms that are representative of the intersectional diversity of our world & consumer, while also positively impacting communities.
Role Overview:We are currently looking for a Planner, Multicultural Strategy to support the day-to-day media planning and strategy functions for a major financial services client. This person will assist a team in the development, execution, and stewardship of media plans for client’s business and report directly to the Supervisor, Multicultural Strategy.
Role Objectives:
Responsible for contributing to the development of and executing strategy for the functional area
Develop media strategy and recommendations under Supervisor guidance
Present media plans and provide plan maintenance including objectives/strategies and updates
Maintain stewardship of reports including competitive analysis using Strategy software to assess media schedules of competitors, interpret data and draw conclusions
Prepare flowcharts and budgets for media plan development and maintenance
Prepare and issue buying specs and guidelines to buyers including delivery goals and budgets for use in negotiations
Review and verify media buys to ensure proper execution
Meet with vendor community to analyze value and applicability of paid media opportunities for client recommendations
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
B.A. or B.S., preferably in Marketing, Advertising, humanities, liberal arts, or related fields
2+ years of experience in media planning/strategy
Media agency experience highly preferred
Basic knowledge of all cross-channel media, with a drive for curiosity and passion for the client’s business
Demonstrate ability to learn new propriety software and processes quickly and proficiently
Exceptional written and verbal skills, with ability to present to clients, maintain client correspondence and internal documentation
Detail-oriented, proactive and quick follow through, ability to multi-task, and work well under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Meet client and internal deadlines and obligations under the guidance of the Supervisor and Director
Manage projects, resources, stakeholders, and participants
Be a resource to others in the resolution of complex problems/issues
The Secret Sauce:
This candidate is not easily discouraged, nor are they risk-averse; they see challenges as opportunities to engage clients and help bring forth culture-first solutions
They love creating the ‘never been done” but aren’t discouraged when recommendations are not approved
They are a self-starter and not easily intimidated, they will be part of a very friendly and collaborative specialty unit within Zenith and are encouraged to not hold it back if they disagree or have an idea to deliver success for our clients

Software Knowledge:
Microsoft Suite, Nielsen Suite, Kantar, IMS, Flowchart Software, R/F and Optimization Software, Social Tracking tools, comScore, Prisma, MBOX, MRI/GfK, GWI. Must understand its capabilities and applications to translate data into actionable culture-first insights.
Additional Information:
This is a hybrid position working 3 days per week in our temporary Birmingham, MI location. This position will move to our permanent location in downtown Detroit when the office opens, with the same 3 days per week hybrid schedule.
