Region Recycling Managers interact with the Regional Vice President, local management, corporate management, employees, and vendors to provide direction and guidance related to operational and procedural activities in accordance with goals and objectives. This position oversees all operational aspects of the business within assigned location(s). Regional Recycling Managers manage the day-to-day operations, establish and maintain performance and productivity metrics and operating procedures, and ensures standards are met.

Responsibilities of Position:Formulate short- and long-term goals and action plans with the Regional Vice President and Recycling Director.Prepare and present reports as necessary. Maintain proper records and files including all compliance and personnel records.Perform all tasks in a safe manner in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and company policies. Comply with and enforce company policies and procedures.Establish budget for market recycling facilities and manage all operations to established budgetary goals & objectives.Represent the company to Solid Waste Districts, municipalities, and businesses.Manage the day-to-day recycling operations of the assigned region and provide daily support to managers in ensuring quality and budget performance.Conduct and facilitate weekly/monthly operational meetings to ensure action plans, P&L, and organizational objectives meet or exceed expectations.Analyze, monitor, review and recommend cost effective measures in accordance with goals and objectives defined by the Regional Vice President and/or Director of Recycling.Respond, recommend, and take pro-active measures to increase recycling profitability within the market.Maintain positive relationships with Regional Vice President, Safety, Maintenance, Human Resources, and other departments.Monitor budget and operating metrics while diagnosing and improving processes, procedures, and performance.Manage staff, including hiring, training, performance management, counseling, safety, etc.Maintain a positive work atmosphere by performing and communicating in a manner that promotes good relationships with employees, co-workers, and management.Interact with local, state, and federal government employees to resolve concerns and ensure regulatory compliance standards are met.Manage recycling processes and resources within the market to ensure productivity and efficiency goals.Oversee maintenance of recycling machines and equipment to ensure optimal results while controlling maintenance costs.Forecast, implement, and monitor recycling budget.Monitor and enforce quality and safety standards and ensure all compliance goals are met or exceeded.Participate in regular P & L reviews to ensure that budgets are met.Develop and implement programs for optimal equipment utilization, maintenance and labor, and material costs.Other duties as assigned.

Skills & Abilities Needed for Position:Knowledge of consuming mill quality and contamination standards important to meeting Rumpke marketing requirements.Current knowledge of safety regulations, requirements, and compliance laws (OSHA, EPA).Computer skills; proficient in Windows and Microsoft applications; AS400 a plus.Very strong leadership, presentation, negotiation and organizational skills required.Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to communicate with all levels of the organization.Demonstrated problem solving, analytical, critical thinking and decision-making skills.Excellent personnel management skills.Demonstrated ability to lead and direct a large staff.Process and results oriented with a commitment to organizational success.Ability to prioritize work and the placement of personnel, equipment, and material.

Additional Working Conditions/Aspects:Must be at least 19 years of age.No more than 3 moving violations within the last 2 years.Must not have any DUI's or OVI's within the last 5 years or 2 in the last 10 years.Exposure to residential and commercial waste.Ability to travel between offices, as required.Ability to work flexible hours; overtime, weekends, and/or holidays.Must be available for 24-hour emergency calls.Legally eligible to work in the United States.Valid driver’s license (if applicable).Must successfully complete pre-employment testing.Must be able to read and speak the English language.
