Materials Manager

Reporting to the Director - Operations, the Manager, Materials is responsible for ensuring all customer orders are scheduled, completed and shipped per the customer's requirements. Working closely with the Production Manager, this position is responsible for creating the master schedule, ordering the required materials, managing supplier relationships through the purchasing function and coordinating the shipment of all products. As a member of the RS management team, this position will support an organizational culture that cares for other's well-being through best practices in health and safety, in addition to the company's values of respect, integrity, quality, teamwork and professional growth.Responsibilities
This position is responsible for ensuring that RSUS schedules and ships its products accurately and on time. This includes:Creating the master build schedule and support winding, order prep and pultrusion schedulesThe management of the incoming material and outgoing product shipment activitiesCoordinate sourcing activities with Corporate PurchasingManages the local purchases of agreed upon commodities, inventory levels, physical inventories along with on-going cycle counts and management of shipping activitiesAdministration of customs related activities for import and export of all materialsManaging and improving the use of the MRP system within the companyReports on incoming materials and outgoing shipments, maintaining data for these operationsSupports other members of the RS staff in R&D and process development activitiesWorks to maintain a cooperative team culture in the facilityWorks to maintain plant cleanliness and orderlinessOther duties as assignedTraining / Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management or similar field requiredMaterials management or related experience of 5 years minimumStrong knowledge of ERP/MRP systemsExcellent knowledge of Microsoft OfficeKnowledge of scheduling, procurement and shippingLean manufacturing principles an assetSix sigma certification an assetKnowledge of 5S principles an assetWorking Conditions
Plant environment, with chemicals and automation, as well as office setting
