Compliance and Crime AnalystPosition Focus:

The Compliance and Crime Analyst will report to the Director of Compliance and Crime Analysis for Yale Public Safety. The position will assist in ensuring that the University remains compliant with state and federal mandated crime reporting (e.g., Clery Act reporting and UCR reporting). The Compliance and Crime Analyst will also assist in crime analysis, detection and identification of crime trends, and develop possible solutions or crime prevention programs and initiatives.Essential Duties:Compliance work will include, but not limited to, direct management oversight of University Clery, department’s FBI Uniform Crime Report, Daily Crime Log and University Fire Safety Report. Develop and keep current on University Clery Act required policies, trainings and programs. Other state and federal mandated reporting compliance. Serve as internal resource and provide interpretations to department leadership and officers.Develop and keep current a comprehensive compliance program to meet state and federal guidelines.Oversee analysis/research as applicable to public safety, including law enforcement and security operations. Assist in the design and implementation of automated models for crime prevention and public safety purposes.Plan and develop reports and analyses on crime, crime prevention strategies, and trends for University decision makers.Identify other sources of data that may be of assistance in crime prevention, analysis and reporting requirements.Supervise the coordination to compile and verify data for the federally-required Clery Report.Recommend implementation of crime prevention initiatives and strategies.Oversee Public Safety crime analysis using both qualitative and quantitative data methods, including statistical methods.Create bulletins and sundry reports, as required based on current crime trends and pending projects. Identify gaps in information and intelligence and work to mitigate risk.May perform other duties as assigned.Required Education and Experience:

Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline and two years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.Required Skill/Ability:Ability to demonstrate skills in multitasking and agility as needs and concerns change.Ability to analyze complex set of facts and apply applicable rules. Familiarity with CT General Statutes, UCR crime definitions, and the Clery Act.Demonstrated strong organization and communication skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with Yale staff, officers and administration.Ability to apply principles of project management, time management, prioritization of projects, and training and development.Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to establish liaison contacts and networks across the University and other law enforcement agencies.Preferred Education, Experience and Skills:

Two years professional experience in public safety or related field. MS Office skills (e.g., Excel and PowerPoint). Other analytical and mapping skills (e.g., Power BI and ARC GIS). Knowledge of the Clery Act, NIBRS, and associated regulations.Background Check Requirements:
