Is an integrated design and build solution provider operating in the water sector. They have over 1,000 staff working across eight regional centres, primarily supporting six long term water sector frameworks operating both on their own and increasingly in joint ventures and alliances.The Role:

Provide leadership and mentoring to the planning department.You will provide planning audit and advice services for projects to help ensure that programme plans are achievable but challenging, are accurately monitored and updated and be the driving force in continuous improvement and development of the planning function within the Alliance. In addition, provide planning representation and leadership for the Planning Department at SLT meetings when requested.Key Responsibilities:

Ability to manage the planning services across the AllianceUnderstanding of the multi-disciplined roles involved within an integrated programme such as design, construction, commissioning, interface with 3rd party others and framework partnersKnowledge of planning systems (Primavera – essential, Microsoft Project - preferable)Provide programme management for a programme of work comprising of a number of individual projects and programmes (batches) combined to form a portfolio of work. Collaborate to determine the best fit for the projects within the programme for cost, revenue, and time, identifying and evaluating any potential efficiencies within the programme of work i.e. geographical, process type or repeatabilityMonitor performance against plans and identifying problem areas and other effectsMinimise company risk by identifying the critical path within the whole programme of work and the individual contractsProvide resource planning and levelling by appropriate resource analysis of activity to ensure the best fit for the projects within the overall portfolioActively develop planning Key Performance Indicators and benchmarking metrics to improve project control and performanceDevelop the planning teamAssist with minimising project and sub programme out turn costsAssist with income forecastingExperience:

Good understanding of Civil Engineering and M&E activityPrevious experience of working within a framework or alliance delivering multi-million pound projectsExtensive planning experiencePossess sound understanding of planning skills and programmingMinimum educated to HND levelExcellent knowledge of planning systemsPrevious experience in successful line management and mentoringExcellent written contractual communicationGood coachingGood leadership skillsInfluence stakeholdersJob Information
