Looking for an exciting Human Resources opportunity with an evolving and growing organization? Great Hearts Texas has a Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) position in the San Antonio area that will partner with our campuses, school leaders, faculty, and staff. This role will assist with the smooth and efficient delivery of HR processes, policies, and services. As a Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) for Great Hearts Texas, you will play a vital role in managing and supporting the school's human resources functions. You will collaborate closely with school leadership, faculty, and staff to ensure the development and implementation of HR strategies that align with the school's mission and values.

This HRBP role is critical for fostering a positive work environment, supporting employee growth, and ensuring compliance with HR regulations, all of which contribute to the school's overall success in delivering quality education to its students.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Visits the campuses and conducts HRBP 1:1's with school leadership and staff, acting as a trusted human resources business partner and confidant.

Responds to employee relations issues collaborating with the Senior HRBP and Vice President of Human Resources.

Partners with departmental school leaders, faculty, and staff to understand skills and competencies required for existing and open positions, aligning to job descriptions.

Assists as needed with recruiting initiatives including job postings, screening, interview coordination, background checks, and on-boarding and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions. Ensure compliance with applicable labor laws and regulations in the hiring process.

Performs routine tasks required to administer and deliver human resource programs including benefits and leave; disciplinary matters; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety.

Provides guidance to supervisors and employees on performance improvement plans.

Supports professional development initiatives to enhance employee skills and competencies.

Facilitates and/or delivers HR related and compliance training as needed.

Develops and updates the Employee Handbook, HR policies and procedures in alignment with school goals.

Generates HR metrics and reports for Senior Leadership to support data-driven decision-making and provides insights and recommendations based on HR data.

Assures HRIS and data reflects accurate state of company and employees.

Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.

Understands and has knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, payroll, talent management, and employment law.

Maintains accurate employee records, including personnel files and benefits.

Performs other duties as assigned by the Human Resource Senior Business Partner and Vice President of Human Resources.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Proven experience as an HRBP or similar role in an educational setting, preferably in a charter school preferred.

In-depth knowledge of HR laws, regulations, and best practices.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.

Proficiency in HRIS (Human Resources Information System) software and talent management.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.

Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.

Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field (master’s degree preferred).

HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus.

Minimum five years of human resource experience.

Minimum three years of payroll/benefits experience preferred.
