You may attach your resume to the application.Job PurposeUnder general supervision, this position serves as a key member of the Department’s Workforce Development team. The Business Services Representative is responsible for addressing the workforce development aspects of our business relationships. All responsibilities support the goals, objectives, and performance outcomes of the Department.Essential Job DutiesLeader in identifying, developing, and maintaining close business connections with Baltimore County’s employers and business associations by providing expertise and counsel on workforce challenges, candidate search and referral, employee retention, rapid response, and training.Subject matter expert on all local, state, and federal workforce programs and partner services for businesses.Supervise the development and distribution of promotional flyers and other marketing materials to Workforce Development Partner agencies and social media outlets.Manage and lead all coordination and preparation for monthly recruitment events at each Baltimore County Career Center and coordinate the major annual Job Fair.Manage and lead the coordination of all outreach efforts for Returning Citizens (Re-Entry) with the Baltimore County Detention Center (BCDC) and other Workforce partners.Manage specialized Career fairs with businesses that are ex-offender friendly.Direct the preparation and presentations for all Baltimore County Rapid Response efforts with the State of Maryland, Maryland Health Connection and supportive services to companies that are downsizing or closing to assist with layoff aversion efforts.Initiate and manage all contact with new businesses and increase Baltimore County’s connectivity and responsiveness to them by developing a business workforce strategy.Manage Baltimore County’s First Source Hiring Agreement initiative.Establish and maintain employer partnerships to solicit feedback regarding job fairs, job placement/career path outcomes and other pertinent data.Partner with local Baltimore County chambers to assist members and businesses with workforce needs.Manage the coordination of the Apprenticeship Navigator to establish an apprenticeship pipeline for Baltimore County businesses.Represent Baltimore County Government and regularly present publicly at business meetings, networking events, and roundtables as needed.Provide expertise and guidance to local Baltimore County high school students with mock interviews.Participate in special committees that work with decision makers and provide advice and counsel where needed.Manage Maryland Workforce Exchange system or other relevant systems to compile, analyze, and track business engagement activities and results.Develop and coordinate target industry groups for the purpose of creating/conducting forums and skill panels to identify demands for skilled workers.Examples of Other DutiesPerform other duties as required to ensure flexibility and adaptability to meet changing business, workforce, and agency needs.NOTE:
