The Energy Department, part of the European Procurement Organization of ArcelorMittal, is responsible for sourcing electricity, natural gas, and industrial gases (oxygen, nitrogen, argon, and hydrogen), and developing energy projects for the group, e.g., energy efficiency, power plants to valorize siderurgical gases, and renewable energy projects. The Department is currently developing new axes of decarbonization with Carbon Capture Utilization and Storage, large-scale green hydrogen, and alternative reductants.The Energy Department buys energy directly in markets or through bilateral contracts for the European perimeter.The Energy team also provides necessary support and expertise to ArcelorMittal’s steel mills worldwide in their energy projects. The team reviews European directives on energy and supports the group in preparing respective advocacy plans.Scope, Mission, and ResponsibilitiesAct as the point of contact for the Energy EPO team in Poland. Responsible for all energy topics in Poland for all segments. Work closely with the rest of the EPO Energy team based in Paris or Luxembourg.In connection with all the mills in Poland, follow the evolution of energy needs, analyze sourcing conditions, and propose the most competitive energy supply (Power, Natural gas, industrial gases, alternative reductants).Responsible for negotiating/developing energy contracts/projects (including amendments) for natural gas, electricity, power plants, and/or industrial gases.Participate in regular meetings between users/suppliers to monitor contract performance and manage potential claims.Work closely with the EPO Energy Team and users to develop energy projects (utilizing best practices and market analysis).Coordinate projects developed by the EPO Energy team and support locally (energy efficiency, onsite renewable energy, etc.).Know and master the European Energy legal framework (Market design, energy transport, energy storage, Renewable energy directives, etc.).Focal point on Transport, Taxes & State-aids. Build and maintain associated tools to track spending and enhance savings.Follow up on the CO2 indirect compensation scheme at the Poland level. Assist energy plant managers with certification bodies and manage planning.Support Polish energy managers at the plant level on state-aid schemes and tax issues (≈20 plants).Responsible for the Polish Energy User Meeting - held twice a year.Monitor the evolution of the regulatory environment. Analyze impacts of measures and make proposals.Work closely with the Head of the Energy Regulatory of the EPO Energy team. Share the country view and prepare positions together. Participate in an Energy regulatory experts’ community.Keep informed and support the Country Manager and EPO Energy team.When requested, represent AM Group in associations (energy consumers or sector such as steel). Defend AM’s positions vis-à-vis other stakeholders and share the country view.Support the Governmental team in lobbying actions.Report to the Head of EPO Energy: inform on the status of discussions, issues, and evolution of needs.Main Characteristics:Languages: Polish and fluent in English; any other EU language is a benefit.Knowledge in the energy domain is a plus.Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, team player.Dynamic, persistent, able to work autonomously and take initiative.Excellent communication and listening skills.
