General FunctionDetermine optimal logistics strategies and tactics for the effective transportation and distribution of products from a centralized distribution center, as well as domestic and international vendor shipping to store customers and store delivery. Manages the development, performance, and maintenance of the organization's transportation to produce an efficient transportation service, maximizing performance, value, and profitability. The role will include the oversight and direction of store-to-customer deliveries via private fleets and third-party carriers.

Essential Responsibilities

Logistics and Transportation Management

Plan and direct operational execution of all aspects of international and domestic inbound, outbound, and parcel/LTL transportation programs.

Translate strategies into specific goals, tactics, action plans, and deliverables for the internal team

Utilize and update the Transportation Management System (TMS) to route and optimize freight movements, manage carrier performance, and drive efficiencies.

Facilitate and manage the selection of transportation providers, negotiation, and maintenance of transportation contracts.

Engage in many network optimization-related projects/activities

Resolve freight delays, carrier problems, or vendor issues; escalate risks or opportunities as appropriate.

Meet with carrier representatives regularly to evaluate performance, resolve issues, and provide feedback.

Develop and manage store-to-customer deliveries via private fleet and third-party carriers

Work cross-functionally to meet cost projections

Trade Compliance and Support

Develop policies and implement compliance plans and training regarding HAZMAT and Homeland Security shipping requirements and training

Manage the Anti-corruption due diligence process of international customs brokers and freight forwarders

Oversee the company's Product Classification Request program to ensure all goods are properly classified for imports and exports

Maintains responsibility for performing all duties in compliance with related legal/statutory, regulations, professional duties, responsibilities, and obligations

Managing accurate shipment documentation, including the generation of the requisite shipping and import/export documentation, as well as, the generation of import/export documentation

People Management

Leverage leadership techniques to influence change and execution.

Develop and monitor onboarding training for new team members.

Establish performance measures and hold the team accountable.

Provide leadership and coaching, and training and development opportunities to support associates' continued development and enrichment. Perform evaluations and periodic reviews. Build and maintain a team atmosphere.

Leadership

Leverage leadership techniques to influence change and execution

Develop & monitor onboarding training for new team members

Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive

Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and following company policy.

Maintains recognition and engagement of team members.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Finance, Operations Management, or related field preferred

Minimum of 5 years experience in supply chain or operations management

Experience working within ERP and TMS systems.

Strong communication skills with the ability to read, write, and present information.

Strong mathematical skills including measurements, calculations, and volumes.

Analytical skills to review data and identify trends and anomalies.

Forklift certification or the ability to become forklift certified.

Strong knowledge of Google Suite and/or Microsoft Office.

Ability to work from more than one location and/or remotely.
