Summary

The Project Manager is responsible for equipping, motivating, and supporting Site Managers and other members of the Production Team for sustained, exceptional customer service and workmanship. This role involves ensuring the consistency, profitability, and success of all projects assigned to the team, analyzing and assessing production aspects to make timely, informed decisions. The Project Manager spreads the company vision, culture, and attitude to team members and excels in communication and empowerment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Creates and executes a schedule of planned visits to project sites. Contacts homeowners with approved contracts, schedules visits as needed, and communicates with customers on schedule changes.

Meets with homeowners to develop project specifications when necessary. Visits project sites, confirms measurements and materials, identifies issues affecting project completion, and clarifies issues with homeowners.

Determines pre-project gross margin. Updates DataForma with pre-project labor and material estimates and ensures gross margins meet company guidelines. Initiates contact with Estimators, Sales Manager, or Production Manager to resolve any open items.

Orders materials and places orders for all materials with suppliers. Updates DataForma as needed.

Updates systems to ensure all details, events, statuses, and notes are current in the CRM system.

Determines and updates Project Schedule Score using a schedule score guide and current factors.

Updates pre-job margins and budget when applicable, consulting with the Production Manager when unsure.

Ensures the timely start of projects and project phases, verifying all materials and equipment are on site and crews are prepared.

Monitors the progress of all projects, communicating with the scheduling team, Site Manager, and work crew leaders to identify issues.

Ensures proper completion of projects, securing a signed Certificate of Completion and notifying the Billing Specialist.

Responsible for securing the final payment, ensuring customer satisfaction, and documenting any punch list items.

Closes the project by submitting the executed Certificate of Completion and final payment for processing.

Reconciles pre-project and post-project margins, discussing differences with the Production Manager and identifying improvement opportunities.

Requirements:

A high school degree; additional training in construction skills, estimating, or customer service is a plus.

5+ years of experience in home building, remodeling, or renovation markets as a skilled tradesman or project manager.

Ability to understand and work with contracts for construction services.

Understanding of home insurance and claims processing.

Strong math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

Demonstrated computer skills using a service-oriented CRM system.

Excellent customer service skills, including the ability to remain calm with challenging customers.
