Position: Japanese Bilingual Logistics Coordinator / Freight Forwarding ClerkLocation: Torrance, CAFLSA: Non-Exempt, Full-timeReport to: Manager
SUMMARYA global logistics company is looking for a Japanese Bilingual Freight Forwarding Clerk to coordinate import and export logistics for customers' delivery requirements. Previous experience in the industry is not required; therefore, it would be a good starting position for candidates who would like to start their career in the logistics industry and gain the knowledge, skills, and abilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:Conduct research on the most appropriate shipping route based on the nature of the items and customer requirements and prepare shipping and logistics documentation.Communicate with customers with shipping updates by utilizing assigned systems to keep track of shipping status.Create quotes and send invoices to customers.Coordinate with vendors to ensure that logistics of items are processed smoothly and in accordance with customer specifications and make payment arrangements for freight fees and charges.Provide accurate shipping information to customs brokers about the shipment.
QUALIFICATIONS:Bilingual Japanese and EnglishProficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and adaptability to learn the new systems required in the logistics industry.Freight Forwarding/3PL/Logistics industry experience; or Travel industry experience required.
