Substance Misuse Team Leader.
Aquarius is a charity that helps people and communities overcome the harm caused by alcohol, drugs and gambling. Right now, we’re looking for someone like you to join our NGAGE Young People’s Service in Northampton. NGAGE is an early intervention drug and alcohol service for young people aged 10-18 and we provide information, education, advice, and support to young people concerning drug and alcohol use.
As Team Leader you will ensure good clinical practice and ensure the service operates within policy and statutory requirements. You will also provide induction, supervision, coaching and work and development reviews. In addition, you will:
Deal with performance management issues
Assist in the recruitment of team members and volunteers
Develop and maintain effective liaison with commissioners and service providers
Manage the budget for the service, ensuring appropriate recording and data reporting
Actively promote Aquarius’ values and mission.
Ideally you have:
A professional qualification in health/social care, youth and community work, (e.g. NVQ Level 4 or above, DipSW, Mental Health Nursing, Counselling, Addiction Studies).
Proven experience of working in the substance misuse field and a commitment to complete further training as required
Knowledge of drugs, alcohol and health-related issues, including interventions that are effective in supporting behaviour change
Experience of staff supervision/management/training and demonstrable skills in partnership working (including voluntary and statutory services)
A good understanding of safeguarding
Good IT skills and a flexible can-do, person-centred approach.
