Regulatory Specialist

Talos Energy is a leading offshore energy company focused on offshore oil and gas exploration and production in the United States Outer Continental Shelf, Gulf of Mexico.Talos Energy is seeking an experienced Regulatory Specialist to provide permitting and regulatory compliance expertise. This role requires collaboration with technical/legal/land for input/support required for the permitting process to submit applications to the USCG, BSEE, BOEM, PHMSA and USACE.Level of title will be determined based off experience.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Subject matter expert regarding all state, federal, and transportation regulationsEnsures the company’s compliance with rules and regulations through all phases of exploration and developmentWork with multiple teams to compile information required to file applicationsMaintain, identify, and track regulatory requirements, submissions, and approvalsDevelop business relationships with regulatory agencies and project partnersCommunicate regulatory requirements and deadlines to the companyOn-call duties, consisting of taking calls after business hours, when appropriateQUALIFICATIONS:5+ years equivalent experience in Regulatory permitting and support, Bachelor’s degree preferredWell-versed in environmental and regulatory laws and practicesProficient in Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel and SharePointExperience building relationships with regulatory agencies and project stakeholdersExcellent communication and organization skillsHighly motivated self-starter with ability to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic, multi-task, customer service environmentKnowledge of BSEE eWell & TIMSWeb applicationsCERTIFICATES & LICENSES:None requiredPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Employee must be able to sit for extended periods of time and have use of arms and hands in repetitive motion. A fair amount of standing and walking is also required for the position.
