LHH Recruitment Solutions is looking for a Purchasing Manager for a client of ours in the Mentor, OH area. The Purchasing Manager will oversee the company’s purchasing functions, focusing on developing and implementing cost-effective procurement policies and procedures. This role involves sourcing, managing suppliers, negotiating prices, and ensuring the timely supply of quality parts for manufacturing.Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement purchasing strategies aligned with production and financial goals.

Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers for cost-effective and high-quality procurement.

Build and maintain strong supplier relationships.

Conduct regular supplier performance evaluations.

Manage relationships with buying groups to reduce costs.

Monitor market trends for cost-saving opportunities.

Achieve cost reductions through streamlined procurement processes and contract renegotiations.

Implement measures to control costs while ensuring timely supply.

Maintain appropriate inventory levels to meet production demands.

Collaborate with internal teams to understand material requirements and lead times.

Work with suppliers to manage lead times and improve delivery schedules.

Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements with suppliers.

Ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards.

Lead, mentor, and develop the purchasing team.

Set performance goals and conduct regular reviews.

Foster a collaborative and proactive purchasing environment.

Prepare and present purchasing reports to senior management.

Review MRP output and manage inventory effectively.

Participate in scheduling meetings to determine short-term production schedules.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

7-10+ years in procurement or purchasing, preferably in manufacturing.

Proven ability to lead the purchasing function, delegate tasks, set timelines and budgets, and manage projects. Skilled in coaching and motivating team members at various levels.

Strong understanding of supply chain management, strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, and vendor management.

Proficient in ERP software (Infor Syteline preferred, but not required; e.g., SAP, Oracle).

Strong analytical skills for data interpretation and strategic decision-making.

Proficient in internal systems and MS Office products.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reports, presentations, and stakeholder interactions.

Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.

High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in procurement processes.

Preferred certifications include Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM).

Location:

Mentor, OH (1 day a week remote | 8 AM - 5 PM)Salary:
