The State Highway Administration (SHA) is recruiting for the Transportation Engineer I- Water Resources Track. This position is located in Baltimore City, Office of Highway Development and Office of Structures and is open to anyone who meets the minimum qualifications listed below. The resulting list of eligible candidates will be used to fill current and future vacancies in this classification throughout the entire agency.Nature of Work:

This is an entry-level engineering position in which the incumbent will be closely supervised in the review and investigation of drainage problems affecting state highways and the hydraulic design of structures carrying waterways. Design responsibilities for storm drains, stormwater management facilities, and erosion & sediment control plans on state projects. This position may also perform hydrologic and hydraulic studies of structures over streams and rivers, including hydraulic design of bridges and culverts, scour safety determinations, and flooding evaluations. This is a training level position, functioning in a design and support role on a hydraulic team.QualificationsEducation:

Possession of a bachelor's degree in civil, environmental, or agricultural engineering from an accredited college or university.Experience:
