Transportation Engineer I



Structures Track . This position is open to anyone who meets the minimum qualifications listed below for this position. This position is located in Hanover in the Office of Traffic and Safety and in Baltimore City in the Office of Structures. The resulting list of eligible candidates will be used to fill current and future vacancies in this classification throughout the entire agency.This announcement may also be used for future vacancies throughout the state of Maryland for SHA.Nature of Work : This is an entry-level position. Employees in this position will apply structural engineering theories, principles, and standards to a variety of transportation structures. New engineers will be involved with the design of new bridges, bridge deck replacements, bridge rehabilitation and repairs, culverts, retaining walls, and noise abatement walls. They will also be involved with performing hands-on forensic evaluations of structures, preparing inspection reports, and making repair recommendations.
