Valkyrie Enterprises has an immediate need for an Instructional Specialist who will be a key support to the Navy Afloat Maintenance Training Learning Management System and will create and deploy multi-platform training content used by various personnel to learn new technical skills or other job-related functions.Job Description:Designs, develops, and prepares structured training materials related to the skills assessment and knowledge requirements of engineering ratings Job Qualification Requirements (JQR).Research and analyze technical documentation and information concerning fleet maintenance performed in the US Navy’s surface fleet.Develop and/or upkeep of Job Qualification Requirement (JQR) per standardization from CNRMC.Develop and/or upkeep of Job Task Analysis data applying skill assessment to a learning methodology.Develop and maintain Training Guides, Lesson Plans, Testing Plan, Test Bank question development and upkeep.Develops Job Sheets for skills application and assessments.Develops test questions using standardized format and requirements from NAVEDTRA 132.Follow ADDIE/PADDIE-M models to develop instructional design plans and final training products.Integrate Job Performance Aids (JPA) and Virtual Task Trainers (VTT), Part Task Trainer (PTT), Training Devices (TD) into skill application.Identifies equipment and tool application relating to Job Qualification Requirements (JQR).Navy NEC 9502 or equivalent work experience is necessary but not mandatory.At least five (5) years of experience in technical training, to include establishing training needs, developing goals and objectives, developing training programs, and applying the instructional systems development (ISD) process.Must possess ability to produce command level written presentations, correspondence, documents and reports.Must possess a strong working knowledge of Engineering Rating work requirements and reference material.Must possess ability to extract relevant data from multiple technical references to create a cohesive, robust training product.Ability to obtain a Secret clearance.Qualifications:Strong working knowledge of curriculum development using Navy Training NAVEDTRA 130 series and MILSTD 29612 series.Ability to apply learning methodology to instructional development.Integrate Job Performance Aids (JPA) and Virtual Task Trainers (VTT), Part Task Trainer (PTT), Training Devices (TD) into skill application.Identifies equipment and tool application relating to Job Qualification Requirements (JQR).Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.Desired Qualifications:At least five (5) years of experience in technical training, to include establishing training needs, developing goals and objectives, developing training programs, and applying the instructional systems development (ISD) process and/or a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in education, instructional design, or curriculum development (strongly desired).Navy NEC 9502 or equivalent or previous teaching experience (strongly preferred).Security Requirements:Must have an active DOD Secret Security Clearance or be eligible to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret Security clearance.Travel:Occasional travel up to 15%.Physical Requirements:Subject to outside environmental conditions (cold/heat), may occasionally be required to work in close quarters and/or function in narrow aisles or passageways on board Naval vessels.Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods, moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another, communicating with others to exchange information, repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers, light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds.Protective clothing or equipment such as hard hats, hearing protection, eye protection, and steel-toed shoes may be required during ship or Fleet Maintenance Activity visits.Valkyrie strictly adheres to a policy of equal employment opportunity.
